I am interested in hearing what YOU want to write as an individual. Go with YOUR insight.

I just discovered you last night. Flipping through Substack, I stopped because I saw your last name, (my mom is a Pogue), and because you write about writing.

I sit on my thoughts and they get bottled up inside. That makes a person weird, so I decided to just copy a Proverb or poignant passage to start an organized flow. It does work. Last night I wrote a beautiful poem for my daughter which I’ll share with her today. Thx, Cuz.

I am going to encourage you to follow your own thought and write what you like because I enjoy hearing your voice and thoughts. If you try to write for others, you will end up writing for no one because it is hard to personalize for a sea of people. It is the easiest (and best) to write for yourself and let others join you on the ride!

I agree. And I have in general written for myself so that I could understand what I like. If people have enjoyed my work and asked me to continue writing about things that I already have, then I am perfectly happy to do so. Maybe I didn’t make that clear in the post.

My goal was to find out what people liked about my work so that I could put more energy into those aspects to help both my community while giving me the chance to continue working in subjects I enjoy. Thank you for the good reminder to write for myself!

I've enjoyed the self-reflective pieces. Reading about other people's experiences helps me connect with this world.
